What to expect after Liposuction

Dr Chad Wu performs liposuction at his private plastic surgery clinic in downtown Toronto. He often combines liposuction with other breast and body surgeries.

Liposuction is one of the most common cosmetic surgery procedures for achieving a contoured and sculpted body. It can help remove stubborn fat cells on the hips, buttocks, thighs, arms, or any problem area, and gives you a shapely body. Liposuction is not a weight loss solution; it is ideal for those who wish to target fat cells in a particularly stubborn area.

One of the people’s most important concerns about Liposuction surgery is what to expect afterwards – during recovery to get the best results. Here’s what you can expect to see following your procedure.

When you return home after liposuction, you’ll wear compression garments to help relieve post-operative swelling. Forty-eight hours after the procedure, you can temporarily remove these garments for bathing. Please note that you may feel slight discomfort and tenderness in the days following the procedure. You can wash with soap and water, but be careful not to rub your incisions. They are still fragile after the operation and must be treated gently. After bathing, you must put your compression garment back on as soon as possible.

For some patients, the primary healing and recovery period after liposuction is completed in around one week, and you can return to work after this time frame. Long-term recovery relates to actual results. It takes about three months for the swelling to go away completely. At this point, you can see the real effects of the liposuction surgery.

Are you ready to remove excess fat and reveal a slimmer, more defined contour? Dr Chad Wu offers a transformative liposuction experience at his downtown Toronto private plastic surgery clinic.
